The Mount Pleasant restaurant Daves Barbecue is opening to the general public on Saturday.
Daves Bar, located at 4200 S. Main St., will be the first of the three Daves locations to open.
It is one of only two restaurants in North Carolina that is opening its doors to the wider public.
The restaurant will feature a large bar with a menu of local and regional items, as well as barbecue sandwiches, soups, salads and sides.
It will also have a bar that can accommodate a large crowd.
Davenses Barbecue will serve a rotating menu of sandwiches and wraps with a variety of meats, including beef, chicken, pork, turkey and lamb.
Davenses will also be the only restaurant in North Carolinians barbecue community to offer a variety and quality of meats in their food.
The Daveness family started Daves in 1973 when Davens Sr. started a local barbecue restaurant at his grandmother’s home in Mount Vernon.
They’ve expanded to include other restaurants in the Mount Pleasant area, and their family-owned business has been in business since 1993.
Dave’s barbecue menu includes brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, brisket-style brisket and sides including a fried chicken sandwich and a pork chop.
